A new year begins …..

DSCN0116I pulled my first print of the year yesterday – The Minoan Snake Priestess. The print depicts the figurine  of a woman holding a snake in each hand found during an excavation of a Minoan  archaeological site in Crete  dating from approximately 1600 BCE.

This print will also be  my first  Wheel of the Year (2013) print. This year as well as creating a print for each festival I will also be co-ordinating  gatherings to celebrate and honour the Celtic Wheel of festivals which spin through our seasons. A friend and I have started ‘The Spiral Grove’ and our first gathering will be at Imbolc on February 9th celebrating  Brigit and the Snake. The gathering will be just a few hours before the Aquarius new moon which is the start of the Chinese  Year of the Snake.
